Thanks to all the Rotarians, Rotary Clubs in Greater Victoria and guests who supported the 2nd Food Rescue Chef Challenge Event.  The event was a sell out with 200 people enjoying tasting and judging the appetizers and desserts.

The overall winner of the 2nd Chef Challenge was the Victoria Golf Club, in a very close competition this year.

Through this event, which included a live and silent auction as well as side fundraisers, $31,824 was raised to support the Food Security Distribution Centre.  These funds will go towards the purchase of tables, chairs and a security system which will allow revenue generation through the rental of the venue.  Remember: all Rotary Clubs in Greater Victoria can use the facility (if available), at no charge, for Rotary events or fundraisers.

During the event, ceramic tiles were sold and the names of individual donors were written on the tiles.  These tiles will be added to the tile wall located at the Food Security Distribution Centre at 808 Viewfield Road.

Again, thank you for your support and we hope you will consider supporting this event again next year – next year’s event will be held on Saturday, October 24th – be sure and put this date in your calendar now!
